The recording type decides what the Garba bot's video looks like. Garba transcribes and identifies speakers the same way whichever type you pick.
The four recording types
Speaker View: shows the person who is speaking.
Gallery View: shows the participants side by side.
Gallery View V2: an updated gallery layout. This is the default.
Audio Only: records sound and no video.
In the account settings, the invite dialog and the Calendar menu, click the ? next to the setting to see a preview of each video layout.
Where to set it
You can set a default for the account, for a team and for yourself. When more than one is set, your own setting wins, then your team's, then the account's.
For yourself
Click your profile at the bottom of the left sidebar.
Under User, click Settings.
Choose under Default Bot Recording Type. Team/Account Default uses your team's or the account's setting.
Save.
You need a recording licence to see this setting.
For a team
An admin can set a team default under Account → Teams. Click Edit on the team and choose under Default Bot Recording Type. Account Default uses the account's setting.
For the account
An admin can set the account default under Account → Settings (Account Settings), in the Meeting Settings card, under Default Bot Recording Type.
Change it for one meeting
A meeting on your calendar: open Calendar, click the gear on the meeting's card and choose under Recording Type. The gear is available for future meetings that Garba is set to record.
A meeting you invite Garba to: choose under Bot Recording Type in the invite dialog. See Manually invite Garba to a meeting.
Good to know
When the calendar syncs again, a type picked on a calendar meeting goes back to your default.
Audio Only wins. If any colleague on the meeting who uses Garba has Audio Only as their default, or the meeting is already set to Audio Only, it stays Audio Only.
Changing your own default also changes meetings already on your calendar, except those already set to Audio Only.
