Adding Custom Vocabulary for Better Transcription

Improve transcription accuracy by adding industry terms, product names, and company-specific words

Custom vocabulary is a list of words Garba should expect in your meetings. Add product names, technical terms, acronyms and jargon, and they come through correctly in the transcript and the summary.

Add words

Only an admin can change the list. It applies to the whole account.

  1. Click your profile at the bottom of the left sidebar.

  2. Under Account, click Settings (Account Settings).

  3. In the Language & Transcription card, find Custom vocabulary.

  4. Type a word or phrase and press Enter. It becomes a chip. Click the Ɨ on a chip to remove it.

  5. Click Save in the You have unsaved changes bar.

The list applies to meetings transcribed after you save. Past meetings are not transcribed again.

What to add

Worth adding:

  • your product and feature names

  • technical and industry terms

  • internal acronyms

  • names of competitors and partners

  • any word you have seen transcribed wrong

Not worth adding:

  • ordinary words

  • your company name

  • the names and email domains of the people in the meeting

Garba adds your company name, the names of the meeting's owner and participants, and the participants' email domains to every meeting by itself.

Limits

  • Garba sends at most 100 terms per meeting, including the words it adds by itself. The word "Garba" comes first, then your list, then your company name and the people in the meeting. Keep your list well under 100, or those names drop out.

  • A phrase of six words or more is split into single words. The split words are added last, so they are the first to drop out when the list is full. Keep phrases to five words or fewer.
